Co-Pastor and First Lady Joanne Corum, Psalmist, worship leader and intercessory prayer warrior are just a few of the words that describe Co-Pastor and First Lady Joanne Corum. She is an anointed singer with a consecrated prayer life, interceding for the Body of Christ. Joanne was 16 years old when she came to Christ. Serving in the ministry for 41 years as a soloist, choir director, worship leader and missionary, this has equipped her for the call of God to pastor with her husband, Elder Simeon Corum.
The life-changing experience of salvation at such an early age has given Co-Pastor Joanne Corum a desire to see youth and Senior Citizens empowered by the Word of God and not limited by the “hang-ups” of church tradition.
Also, being the mother of three young adult children, all of whom are active in the ministry, sounds a clarion call to the Body of Christ that “this generation belongs to Christ.” She believes that the voice of youth must be heard and understood if we are to reach them for Christ. She also has three lovely grandchildren, Elijah, McKenzie, and Shiloh.
Co- Pastor Joanne Corum also has an overwhelming passion and desire to minister to the “hurting church”, Christians that have been wounded and broken, misunderstood and isolated in the house of God. She wants them to know that God has a secret place of security. A place of intimacy with him that protects and preserves us even as God uses the experiences of disappointment to prepare us for our call in ministry. “He who dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty…Because thou hast made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High thy habitation…” Psalm 91.
Co-Pastor Joanne Corum understands the value of a good Christian Education and studied Homiletic s at the Calvary Bible Institute in 2006, and completed two years of courses, making of a leader, rightly dividing the word of truth from the Scripture Cathedral Bible Institute 1983 – 1985. She also appreciates general education and completed course at: Prince Georges Community College for Business Management, 1980 -1982; Jefferson Business College for Business Administration / Executive Secretary, 1980 – 1982; National Education Center for Medical Assistant, 1990; Washington Education Center, CEO System Manager Data General, 1990.
Co-Pastor Joanne Corum has received several Awards and Certificates cataloging quality work performance and appreciation for her more than 37 Years of Service in the Government of the United States of America. Those service areas include working for the United States Congress in the House of Representative and the Senate. In addition she has spent 25 years at the National Institutes of Health. Co-Pastor Joanne Corum has had a distinguished federal career. Co Pastor retired in April 2015.
Co-Pastor Joanne’s life-long vision is to build a senior citizen home(s). She has such love and adoration for the elderly and wants to give them a place where they can last in the love of God and the love of people who completely cares for all their needs. Co-Pastor Joanne Corum believes that their ministry has its focus on unity of the family. She glories in the day that all their siblings will experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ and worship together in the beauty of holiness.
We could not ask for a better Co-Pastor and First Lady at Goshen Worship Center Church.
